Work never ends!

Hello!

I'm currently drawing "In Dark Hell: Pilot Manga" Chapter #4. Some people even started to push me a little so to have it ready now! Based on my calculations, it should have been ready for the end of this month, but because of some misfortunes and some changes on the covers, this chapter suffered a minor delay. Chapter #4's availability will be somewhere around mid January, 2011 with a small chance for an earlier release.

What's to be expected on this chapter:

Xarian and his henchmen, Saburou (the 3-in-1 fellow) are in hot pursuit of Reiko, while Kaede and Jiro are doing their best to stop them at all cost, releasing their inner power to top Xarian's might! But no matter how hard they try, it is in the end Reiko herself who must stand up against them. How will that happen? Or, what will happen? It is probably time for her to begin considering a few alternate measures. Something to do with her bitter past.

I had to re-draw it because I lost the drawing software's documents and I had to manage colors throughout its different layers, so, to bring up a higher quality, I decided to do it again from scratch. And here it is!

I like it better than the previous one, and I can finally imagine these dudes in color now. ^ ^

After the DCC I noticed my Manga was not well... 'noticed' by the public. One of the reasons (and I bet was reason #1) was because it was all in B&W. But a problem no more, because yesterday I was able to run a print test of the new cover for chapter #1, in full color. Here's a view:

Chapters #2 and #3 will also receive the same treatment, as well as upcoming chapters #4, #5 and #6.

December = DCC @ YMCA!

Hi!

Yesterday (Dec. 5, 2010) I assisted the 30th David's Comic Clan, or better known as "DCC" as my first-time-ever to sell my IN DARK HELL: Pilot Manga!

The experience selling it was awesome, and I learned many things while at it. I understood the corrections I have to make and those corrections are going to be applied ASAP; which means the upcoming chapter #4 will be a tad affected by it, and its release will be delayed to an unconfirmed date.

My next targeted activity will be KAISEN 8 this next February 19 and 20, 2011, where you'll see IDH from chapters #1 up to #4, with color covers this time and some extra merchandise I'm thinking of, like posters of the main characters and villains.

As soon as I upload yesterday's DCC pictures, I'll upload them here and on IDH's Facebook account.

Thank you all for your support on this Local Manga, and I hope you keep on asking for more, since I'm cooking a new (longer) Season for a near-future release.

1st Anniversary!

Today, GEO DELMARO's BLOG is celebrating its first anniversary!

One year ago, on this same date, I gave birth to a site where I could express myself, whether people read it or not; in the hopes that they are. :p

The main reason for this blog was to show you (and myself) how I'm managing my life towards becoming a MANGAKA! What I'm doing right? What I'm doing wrong?

Today, I have 3 chapters of my MANGA made. I still need to handle some crucial stuff to make it available for SALE, but it's coming out pretty good and I'm excited about it.

My son's birthday party is soon to come as well. Remember his last year's birtday party? (check last year's posts) I'll do my best to shoot some pics to upload later on.

I may also change some stuff around the blog, as well as uploading some COSPLAY photoshoots I'll be managing in the next few months, cosplaying characters of my new MANGA and next upcoming projects.

Hello again...

It's been a while, but I'm back after a couple of months without Internet and packed with 3 chapters of the Manga I'm about to release.

It's a PILOT of 6 chapters to get the series started. Depending on the results, I may consider extending it.

I wish I could make a SEASON or two and an Anime movie (or life-action) with this story.

I wasn't able to attend the KAISEN 7 ComiCon this past September 4th & 5th as I wanted. (-_-') I have a lot of money issues and, without cash, I can't move around with this project. But I'm slowly making it happen, so it's a good sign.

I'm closer and closer to my goal each passing day, and I'm feeling very excited about this. I'll have my own MANGA STUDIO soon, and if things go well on the first months (or after the first year), I may even open a channel for those interested on becoming MANGAKAS to have a chance to make their own. I'll publish them together with mine, as if we were making a sort of SHONEN JUMP magazine. Cool, huh?

But it's still a bit soon to be discussing this. First things first, and that's finishing my PILOT of 6 chapters and YOUR SUPPORT to make this happen! Let's break the boundaries and go out there, kiddos! ^ ^

Hello MINA~SAN!!

Today was my nephew's (Julio AKA Tito) birthday party. It was cool, and I met some new friends. Some of them knew me already because my nephews told them about me. We like mostly the same stuff, which brought us somewhat together today. There was a rock band playing, but even though the lead singer couldn't make it, we had fun. At first we were a bit shy to come closer to each other, but we finally got over it and started to talk right away. ^ ^

Road to mangaka!

Hello again!

As you already know, I want to become a Mangaka. But I didn't know getting there was THAT hard!! I mean, I've been reading a manga called "Bakuman" (from the people who brought us 'Death Note') these past few days and it's all about youngsters who want to become mangakas and all the difficulties and challenges they face in order to get it. 

I've learned "Shonen Jump"'s system, and all the ways they consider when taking a story into account for serialization. It's a long, hard road, and made me realize how far I am from making it. (If it was already a long road for me, realizing this reality -of how strict the business is- made the road for me 3 times longer than it already was!) But will this be a barrier to stop me from getting there? ABSOLUTELY NOT! 

Making manga is not something I came up with the other day just because is too darn popular nowadays. I've been wanting to make comics since I was in elementary school, so I go waaay back. I've made many stories into comic books just for fun, but this time and date, I want to go PRO, starting from square one. But doing this is like saying "starting a game in New Game + (plus)" I'll be starting from scratch, but applying all the knowledge I've acquired so far in my experiences reading, researching and writing/drawing manga domestically.

Currently, I'm drawing a One-Shot Manga. I'll make a stop soon and consider important points. Once satisfaction is met, I'll continue drawing with the new perspectives in mind. 

I encourage all Mangakas wannabes out there, make a lot of research, read Manga books, and above all, follow your inner instincts. After all, it's originality what truly counts and how much are you willing to give in to your project.

MGS:Fever continues...

Yesterday I was expressing my feelings toward the Metal Gear Solid franchise as I posted a bit about the next installment of the series, "Metal Gear Solid: Rising". I listened to the MGS2 OST and watched some videos online as well. Too much metal to handle, so I went to my treasure chest where I save my cosplay stuff, and looked for some toy guns. My kid followed me because he knew I was about to do something interesting. For himself, at least. ^ ^

We played MGS! I was Snake and he was... someone else. Then, I grabbed a sword and became Raiden, as he got to play as Snake. We defeated many soldiers and stopped the Gigantic Metallic Menace or the "GMM" (hah... that was a joke there... ... ...*ahem*). Here some pics of yesterday's adventure. ^ ^'

He woke up today very early and is already wearing the bandanna and weapons, ready for another mission. I guess I better not keep him waiting.

Metal Gear Solid: FEVER

Hey there.

After this past E3, I've been very excited about many items presented there. One of them is the upcoming next MGS title "Metal Gear Solid: Rising" featuring Raiden. 

Raiden uses a sword and can cut through anything! You can see a trailer here if you haven't yet.

As I understand, MGS4 was based in the year 2014. "Rising" will be set on a previous -yet unannounced- year, which obviously makes it a prequel to MGS4. As I read in an article at IGN website, "Rising" will tell the story of how Raiden went from a young soldier (MGS2) to the cyborg ninja he ended to be (MGS4). Which is nice, since I was wondering the same. 

Raiden can cut thru anything, even this guy's exoskeleton.

When cutting, you enter a 'bullet time' mode

to give you time to decide your cutterly ways.

"Here, at RAIDEN MOTORS, we're splitting the price in HALF!"

Raiden is the main character here, but I also wonder the presence of the legendary hero in this new installment. Only time will tell as news continue to spread.

Life will be life until life itself ends!

Hello!

Life has struken me hard these past months, and depression is over me, again. It gets in the way of getting my Manga done, and I hate that. I want to finish it already!! Publish it!! Make money with it!! LOL!

I showed it to my nephews, who adore Manga (and Naruto above all things *roll eyes*) and one of them said something that I overlooked. Something that I noticed while I was working on it, but it wasn't until that moment when I realized the importance of it. It's a good thing to show your underworking product to someone reliable. His/her opinion can help you really good.

They invited me to a birthday party they'll have this next Saturday 25th. I'll attend and take pics. They told me I already have fans, because my nephews talk about me at school and they want to meet me. They've seen some of my drawings and they already want to copy my style, hahaha!... NO WAY!

You wanna learn how to draw Manga, check books like these. ^ ^ 

I'm still learning, and as I make my Manga, I'm learning even more, because I face many challenges on the road and notice what I didn't notice before. Well, I've been drawing since High School, but I've never taken any drawing classes because LIFE is difficult and I couldn't. Even now, if I wanted, I couldn't either.   

But I don't want to wait any longer for things to be accomodated so to begin making Manga. I'm starting with one which I consider it's a TEST, because I'm literally testing many things, like I said, discovering new things and facing new challenges as I work on it. I have another Manga project to work with afterwards, and more stories coming up ahead of these.

So yes, LIFE is hard, but it has its amazing rewards in the end of the road.

Bleach Manga

I'm still working on the Manga/Movie project. It's a hard thing to do but enjoyable nonetheless.

Meanwhile, I'm fueling up reading the Bleach Manga, which is my favorite one. Ah, heck, it's the only one I read! ^ ^

My Manga will probably be fully available by February 2011, or perhaps some time in the end of the current year. I'll be posting updates as they're available.

Manga, page 20!

Oh, ok. What's all the excitement about? That I finally reached page #20 of my current Manga project. That's what.

About a month ago I started this project, which means it takes me around 30 days to complete 20 pages. This because I dedicate some time into fixing some parts and not to mention adding tones. A Manga production house take much less time, but only because they have a battery of artists to make it happen. Out here, it's just plain, boring me doing all these stuff, and boy do I have a great time doing so! ^ ^

Yeah, yeah, I'm finally living it my way. Well, almost. When I'm business and begin gaining money for my work, THAT will be the day!

Be honest with me. Who hasn't dreamt of making this happen? Having your own Manga made like Bleach and the likes? Oh, I feel you. (I'm currently having butterflies!)

Hello and welcome again!

I'm a tad busy lately with multiple things I'm working on (two Mangas, two movie scripts and a little something on the side). And here I am to update my blog and talk a bit about these projects to those of you who are interested and always reading my blog day after day!! (crickets chirping) ...^_^' heh.. *nervous chuckle*

Well, yesterday, my friend KHAIL (see image below) and I went out to run some errands and, while we were at it, we talked about our near future projects.

This is my high school friend, Khail.

He is a computer teacher, an artist in writing

stories, a musician (plays guitar and currently

learning the piano) and plans to write a novel soon,

where I'm going to be making some drawings!

We had Chinese and, while at it, he commented some

things about life, love, women and his fascinating vision

upon all these mentioned elements.

On his upcoming book, he tells a story of a

couple in love, both somewhat victims of war.

Here, I made a drawing of one of my own characters

to warm up for the drawings he will be asking me.

On this image you can see the method I used

to make it happen. Wish me luck so that I can

bring something of good quality for Khail, and

for his upcoming book readers. ^ ^

Hello!

After a big and unexpected break time, I started to draw again. Many issues and many troubles always pop up during the construction of something. But that's life, I guess.

I wanted to finish a Manga project to be published this next April for a ComiCon activity, but it's not gonna happen. I had to push it back again because it's taking me longer than I expected, and I don't have the professional tools and/or experience to make it happen the way pros do. But I believe in myself enough as to bring out something.

So, while I finish the Manga project to be printed, I started off with another Manga to, once again, strike the internet. And this time, it's NOT a test. I'm not supposed to say anything about this yet, but I needed to write something on my blog, so, I did. ^ ^

MANGA!

Hello and welcome again to my blog! ^ ^

I've been working on my next Manga project, as many of you already know, and I took some pictures to show you a bit of that progress.

This is my desk. Yup, that's right. Pretty tight and not

too comfortable to work with. But I get the job done! ^ ^

This is what I call the "Outline Process", where I make

quick drawings just to see how the whole story fits

per volume/per page/per square.

This here is chapter 5 part 2. I preffer to complete the

whole thing first before I start selling Manga volumes.

are just a bit difficult to make. Well, not anymore, LOL!

But here comes the sad part. As you can see, my workplace is not what I can call an office. I really want to become a Mangaka, but under these circumstances... I'm not sure. See the following pics.

This is my 3 1/2 X 5 inches Wacom Tablet. Or what's left of it.

.

The pen tip is broken, very difficult to grab

AND draw with it. Sometimes it confuses the

tip with the back and erases instead of inking. -_-'

.

The USB cable is also broken, so I had to put it together

with tape and each time I want (well, HAVE) to use it,

I have to twirl the cable in all the ways you can imagine

until, like 10 minutes later, it comes to life.

.

My Laptop is outdated and also breaking out slowly

each passing day. It heats up easily, so I bought a

fan to place beneath it. It's that gray platform you

can see... but take a wild guess: It's broken!

.

So, I had to use a provisional small fan so that I can

continue working on my projects. And that's my

current status as of now. ^ ^'

.

I'm jobless, my wife is jobless, and we have a 5 years old kid in school. I have no money at all to fix my car, to pay the bills, and other things we need to get to survive. Thankfully, my mother in law is kind enough to pay my bills until we find a job and establish ourselves. Also, I thank God because He's been protecting me all along in my times of need.

.

Now I'm gonna ask you for your help. You know I want to be a Manga artist. I want to publish my books. But I won't be able to under these circumstances. I need new equipment and a new, bigger desk to work on. I understand that everybody is going thru a difficult time, but for those who can, I'm asking you for your donation. I need a new Laptop, a bigger Wacom Tablet and a decent desk.

My part is a father, whose wife and only son were taken in the rapt... but I was left behind!!! How terrible is that!!! ...Luckily for me, it's just a play! ^ ^
